Tempo is a feel-good song about these moments in life when everything around you is in perfect flow.

You know this feeling is going to be temporary: life will eventually get in the way, problems and challenges will arise. But this is not impacting the peace you’re currently experiencing. Because you know that this feeling is always accessible, you just have to peel off the layers.

In this moment you are fully present and aware. You’ve come a long way. You have grown so much. You know yourself better than ever.

Tempo was written in 2019, in a tiny wooden cabin, on a farm in the middle of nowhere in Northern Ontario, with no electricity and no running water (Unless that perfect little stream running right in front of the cabin counts as running water).

Tempo was written at a phase of his life where Valentin felt complete, felt whole. He had some desires, of course, but every important aspect of his life seemed to be met perfectly. Everything was exactly how it was supposed to be, in tempo within the rhythm of life.

Tempo was then recorded and finalized in 2022 in Guatemala, facing Lake Atitlán, witnessing an active volcano erupt every morning with a beautiful mushroom of black smoke.
